Venezuela in crisis-Opinion

Just today opposition leader Juan Guaido announced the beginning of the end for the now President Maduro’s presidency which has been marked with offences ranging from provoking political upheaval, election rigging, institutional corruption, bribery and an extremely low approval rating. The results of such occurrences are rather unsurprising, one being a full-scale humanitarian crisis and the other a whirlpool of economic related quagmires throughout the country which have left much of its citizens gridlocked. Maduro’s response to this attempted Coup d’état is what is to be expected, “We will win”. While hiding away in his fortress hoping Uncle Sam shoots down the idea of military action or that a change of sides by Maduro’s current military members (many of whom have already joined the opposition) does not occur, somehow there is still a sense of hope in his mind.
